the [W] family...farewell for now photos!

I have had the good fortune of knowing this amazing family for the past 4 years...I was thrilled for their recent opportunity to move to Alaska- what an exciting new chapter for them- but sad for their absence here in Colorado, I KNOW they will be missed by many; they are such a great example to me of a hard-working, smart, and well-rounded family who LOVE to be silly together!

When I heard that husband and father, Judd would be leaving the first of the year, with wife and mother Aubree staying to finish out the school year with kids (as well as all of the other many details that go along with such a huge move!)...I was reminded of when my family experienced a similar situation when we decided to move from Ohio to Colorado. My heart aches for Aubree because I know how long those nights alone can be and how talking on the phone is not quite the same when all you long for is that deep embrace that speaks more than words...

Even though I can sympathize, I know it's just not easy, but I wanted to do SOMETHING that might help...so, I decided to reach out and offer what I CAN do...CAPTURE MOMENTS!

We did our session the day before Judd left for Alaska and I was honored to be able to capture some sweet moments!

It is my hope that looking at the images from their session will make the distance seem less significant while they're apart and celebrate the chapter of their lives spent here in Colorado!

How absolutely adorable are these kiddos?!! And as adorable as they are, they are equally energetic and FUN! I had such a blast photographing them AND working with their dad to surprise Mom for her birthday!! The kids were successful in keeping the secret from Mom and Dad scored BIG with something Mom has wanted for a long time...a year's worth of unlimited sessions!! She was absolutely thrilled with this first, surprise session AND for the year of sessions that lay ahead...I couldn't have been more excited to be a part of such an awesome gift and to have the opportunity to work with the whole family through the year!!

Why Brides & Grooms should consider a FIRST LOOK SESSION!

I was chatting with a good photographer friend about some weddings she is looking forward to shooting this summer...and I told her about (and emphatically recommended) the FIRST LOOK session. I think this trend is getting more and more popular (and rightfully so!) so I wanted to blog about it for any couples who might be considering adding this to their wedding itinerary.

I have done FIRST LOOK sessions a couple of different ways. First, I have given the couple the option of making it a TRUE first look (meaning I actually capture the moment the groom sees his bride, as well as as much or as little as they want after the initial first look) OR simply meeting them at a predetermined location (these couples do not mind seeing each other without capturing the first look and often arrive together; the point of this type of session is mostly to get a full session of images before the wedding day, thus reducing the time needed for pictures on the big day)...

If you haven't guessed it already, my FAVorite is definitely the TRUE FIRST LOOK session! I have found myself close to tears, my heart burning in awe of the REAL and intimate, breathtaking and overwhelming emotions that unfold. It truly is magical and I feel so honored to capture these moments that are a very special part of the wedding story.

Here, at a wedding last July, the couple had their true first look session maybe 45 minutes before the ceremony. It was an intense moment, as both the bride and groom were overcome with butterflies and emotions. Afterward, the bride told me she was SO glad they had that moment together; not only did it put them at ease for the ceremony itself, they have a treasure of beautiful images that convey their emotions and love unlike any other images could!

Here, another July wedding, the couple chose to simply meet me at Hudson Gardens for their session. We had unlimited time to comfortably capture a variety of poses, etc...that surely wouldn't have ALL been possible to capture on the wedding day.

I think we were able to get some wonderful shots, which still hold great emotion and intimacy even if it wasn't a TRUE first look. PLUS, since we did the session a couple days before the wedding, this couple was able to have a handful of images printed to display at their reception (yet another reason to go for the FIRST LOOK SESSION!)

And finally, this TRUE first look from a November wedding...

It was fun to stage their meeting; I had the groom around the corner and the bride walked up, they held hands before he pulled her around the corner to admire her! It was so touching and JUST beautiful!

Below, one of my FAVorites! I love the bride's beaming smile and the way their eyes are locked. The groom canNOT take his eyes off his stunning bride and even though only part of his face is visible, his equally beaming smile is obvious! This makes my heart just SMILE!!

And of course, a long embrace that speaks volumes even though both bride and groom are silent, just holding each other...

Are you sold yet?!! I LOVE the first look because not only does it relieve the amount of time pictures take on the wedding day (though I always capture some on the big day too), it is a TRULY PRICELESS opportunity to capture the treasured moment when the groom first sees his bride (and not from across the room as she walks down the aisle, but face to face!)...As you have seen, this moment is filled with REAL emotion, intimate expressions, and just a feeling that words alone cannot describe. I know that seeing his bride walk down the aisle is an important moment, but I personally feel that the emotion and bond that is captured as their eyes meet, as the groom admires his bride, as they embrace...is PARAMOUNT!

The bad news is that, in the midst of the holidays, I FORGOT to post sneak peeks for these two amazing families (both photographed the week of Christmas)...HOWEVER- the GOOD news is that ALL of the editing for both sessions will be done VERY SOON!

First, the extended [D] family...with everyone home for the holidays, I had the pleasure of photographing the whole group AND individual families, including THIS little man!! We did mostly formal posed shots, but I couldn't resist a couple of candids!!

I have been blessed with the most wonderful friends, and Naomi and her family are no exception! We LOVE going out for sushi, playing games, laughing to Brian Reegan, just hanging out, and even couponing ;) SO it probably comes as no surprise that I had a blast photographing their family, including 4 beautiful, energetic girls!!

The three older girls kept me running, but hopefully I was able to capture their energy and personalities! Aren't they the CUTEST?!!

Heart of Hearts Gala featuring entertainment by Kellie Pickler colorado event photographer

What an exciting weekend! I felt very privileged to photograph another event for the Rocky Mountain Adventist Healthcare Foundation, the Heart of Hearts Gala. The gala started out with a cocktail hour and silent auction...

then shifted to a formal dinner, review of the program's mission (spotlighting an incredible man who survived a near-fatal heart attack- a very moving story), then a donation drive, all emceed by Channel 9's Mark Koebrich...

The evening wrapped up with entertainment by Kellie Pickler. It was an honor to meet Kellie in the VIP reception; she is incredibly sweet, genuine and real. Her performance, which was energetic and fun, not only showcased some songs from her upcoming album, but between songs, she shared some of her background and her great passion for country music...

I was *LOVING* working with the awesome lighting...it was way fun!

We had such a fun time visiting downtown Littleton, Red Rocks, Lair O' the Bear open space park...I loved having this special opportunity to spend all day photographing a family; it allowed for an easy pace and lots of great *little* moments captured...

Walk of Dreams 2011 [colorado event photographer]

Once again, I had the great privilege of capturing some amazing moments and working with some *INSPIRING* people...

Operation Walk

is a private, not-for-profit, volunteer medical services organization which provides free surgical treatment for patients in developing countries that have no access to life-improving care for arthritis or other debilitating bone and joint conditions."

Twice a year, the organization here in Denver sends a team of doctors, nurses, therapists, and other medical staff to developing countries to perform critical, life-altering joint replacement surgeries. With their time and talents, this team literally makes walking a reality for the most humble of people, who never dreamed it possible.

Each year a gala, called Walk of Dreams, is held to honor this team as well as raise funds to support the organization so that they can continue to work these miracles. I have had the privilege of photographing this event for the past few years and each year I leave feeling so humbled, with renewed gratitude for my health and the country in which we live, where we are so blessed to have medical technology at our fingertips.

This year some special visitors were invited to speak at the event; including young Maria, who shared her story from barely being able to get out of bed and bound in a wheelchair when she did...to receiving joint replacements that allowed her to walk again. Her story was incredible and it was amazing to witness the work of this skilled team!

Below with his wife, Dr. Douglas Dennis, executive director of Operation Walk Denver, and the First Lady of Panama, who was a keynote speaker and honored guest.

After cocktails and the formal dinner, a lively auction was held in which so many great sponsors provided gifts and a substantial amount of money was raised for this great cause. Then, guests enjoyed entertainment by some Panamanian dancers and finally, a hilarious "Dancing With the Docs" special!! It was definitely a very memorable night!!

SEPTEMBER

HOPEFULLY this will be my last "blog-by-the-month" post (YIKES, can't believe how time has gotten away from me...promise to try harder to post sessions as they are finished!!)

SO September started out absolutely PERFECT with a senior session starring STUNNING Natalie!! She rocked the camera at Hudson Gardens and downtown Littleton...

Next up, I photographed an engagement session with gorgeous Alyssa and Stephen, soon to be married November 26th! To say they were a blast to work with is an UNDERSTATEMENT! These two were so sweet, candid, and overflowing with *LOVE* for the camera!! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL couple!!

AUGUST

August came and went before I had a chance to really get organized...we traveled to Ohio, where I had some wonderful opportunities photographing family and old friends (as well as some new!) while we visited for a few weeks. Then, school started and time has flown by since, with opportunities to photograph another of my FAVorite families AND a golf tournament. Enjoy my glimpse into August...

Parker Hospital Golf Classic- I had the amazing fortune of meeting an awesome lady a few years back, who plans events for a healthcare foundation. She is SUPER talented at her job and I feel very blessed to photograph several events for her throughout the year. Every year I get to photograph golf tournaments for a few local hospitals as well as a couple of (very inspiring) galas that are held to thank donors and raise money for their cause (can't wait to share MORE on this!) Photographing the golf tournaments is really a lot of fun- I get to be outside on pristine golf courses and photograph the foursomes that participate to raise money to benefit a specific need in that hospital; they all are just having fun, not only with the golf, but also contests held throughout the tournament. I also like to put a creative touch into this work, capturing details throughout. Then, I print out 4x6's on my Canon Selphy printer and insert them into a frame the golfers get to take home with them. Voila!

an AWESOME senior session in Ohio...Taylor really rocked it! I particularly loved doing some different shots incorporating his passion for football, as well as finding new fun locations to shoot at (with the help of a superstar photographer friend, Melissa Perry of Melissa Perry Photography)

I'm normally don't really LOVE shots with sunglasses...BUT absolutely LOVEd how this one turned out!

This spot turned out to be INCREDIBLE...good thing, after almost falling through a rickety beaver dam and into the river!!

Then came an unexpected opportunity to photograph Taylor with his whole family! I had a great time getting to know them and watching (and capturing) their interactions...they are a seriously sweet family!

SERIOUSLY, one of my FAVorite subjets to photograph...my sweet little niece, Macie! Can't believe she turned ONE! I love her smile in this image...just chillaxin' in the JohnDeere wagon!

I LOVE cute curious expressions!!

and HERE are some reasons why living so far from family STINKS! My sweet big sis, her husband and daughters, Taylor and Macie...the girls grow SO fast and I just can't get enough of them on our visits to Ohio!!

My oldest niece, Taylor! She has grown up in so many ways and is TONS of fun, with a really contagious GIGGLE I just LOVE!! I miss this little sweetheart!!

1st Bday Party!! You guessed it, JohnDeere-themed! My sister made a super cute cake and of course pulled everything together with lots of fun details and decor! PS- Macie's awesome JD boots were a gift from us...I saw them and couldn't resist!!!

I was blessed to photograph the family of a very dear friend from "back in the day!" Jami and I have loads of crazy, interesting, should-be-embarrassing-but-just-make-us-laugh stories from high school, in particular cross-country and track ;)

It is just awesome to catch up with her and see her so happily married and the amazing, sweet supermom of 3 adorable kiddos!

Wow, have I been behind in the blog world, or what?!! The good news is that it's NOT because I haven't been busy...I've barely been able to keep up, and LOVING working with the most FUN, GORGEOUS, AMAZING (and patient!) CLIENTS ever!!

so grateful to have met this adorable family..."Mrs. [C]" was my Cooper's kindergarten teacher! She and her husband are beautiful and so SO sweet!

They had this location in mind, and I was up for anything! But I have to admit, the lighting was a bit challenging...clouds here and there, cutting up very bright sunlight. I found a few shady spots that worked out nicely, then decided to work WITH the light and use it to my advantage...it was awesome capturing a couple of silhouettes and one of my favorites (first of them, above) they were standing on this ledge, the sun was so bright, but they looked out in the distance and it was just *MAGIC* Not a "traditional" maternity shot, but I LOVED it!!

AND...and another slight challenge, their DOGS! They were beautiful, too and cooperated well! I haven't worked a ton with pets, but it was fun for a little challenge!

I had a wonderful time photographing the [W] family at one of my favorite nature locations, Lair O' the Bear open space. Right away, little [J] was rockin' the camera...not "posing" at all, but just allowing me to capture his innocence, curiosity, and fun 2-year-old personality!

another favorite of [J]...I LOVE this age, when kids are, more often than not, oblivious to the camera. [J] was just walking up this hill, playing with the tall grass when I called his name...

I did photograph [J]'s new little brother, and we did TRY to get a "good" shot of the brothers together...not sure if this qualifies as "good," meaning the typical-look-at-the-camera-say-cheese-and-smile picture. But truthfully, I LOVE this WAY MORE!! It totally captures their relationship, 2-year-old "big" brother and helpless baby brother...

Playground Build! [Colorado photographer for Rebuilding Together and Carter's Kids]

This event was definitely outside of the box, as far as my experience in photography goes! I feel so fortunate to have met Becky Carter with Rebuilding Together through a mutual friend, and to be hired to photograph their rebuild efforts in the Barnum Community in Denver. Hopefully I will have some before and after photos to post soon (the work these volunteers did was INCREDIBLE!!), but first, here are some photos of a Playground Construction I was lucky enough to photograph for Rebuilding as well, a couple of days before the Barnum project. Rebuilding Together worked together with Lowes and Carter's Kids, an organization founded by Carter Oosterhouse. It was inspiring to see so many volunteers working hard for such a great cause!!

These first couple of images are of Carter Oosterhouse and his fiance, Amy, as they were being interviewed by the media. I had a chance to chat a bit with Amy and YES, I DID inquire as to whether or not they chosen had a wedding photographer! Hahaha!! Had to put myself out there, though....She said they had chosen a photographer, and WOW, that photographer is definitely LUCKY- these two are beautiful and seem to be so candid!

cutting the ribbon to "officially" open the playground...it was incredible, even before that, there were kids from the neighborhood wandering over and testing out all the fun equipment!

Okay, okay, this one has nothing to do with the playground build, BUT I COULDN'T HELP MYSELF! As everyone (ahem, the adult volunteers!!) played on the new equipment, I glanced over at Carter & Amy, laughing and admiring the AMAZING effect, I'm sure they can already envision this playground having on the children of this neighborhood!

Josslyn & Leon [Colorado Wedding Photographer in San Diego]

I had the fabulous opportunity to photograph a cousin, Josslyn, and her wonderful fiance, Leon (as well as their little Kasia!) in San Diego last weekend. It was AMAZING! I not only had a blast photographing them (they totally ROCKED the camera...completely, naturally, in LOVE!), but also enjoyed getting to meet Leon and witnessing their sweet, playful love!

Yes, I DID of course get lots of images with the beautiful Mr&Mrs-TO-BE! There were so many fantastic shots, it was hard to choose just a few...

We photographed first at Balboa Park (absolutely gorgeous!) but then, of course HAD to have some fun at the beach!! I had envisioned a beautiful, serene, romantic sunset session. I think most of the elements were present except for the sunset (completely overcast!), and, well, okay...may be we were lacking serenity too! But, heck-- see for yourself- it was a BLAST!!!

SO grateful for the opportunity to photograph weddings!! I LOVE capturing emotions and interactions between people, telling their story... and weddings provide some of the most genuine, tender, natural, fun, unforgettable, magical moments.

Even though I wasn't able to photograph Rachael & Hernan's wedding (in Utah), I was thrilled to capture a reception they had here in Colorado. I spent most of the night photographing candids, capturing guests and details to record this beautiful chapter of their story...BUT, I also was lucky enough to take a few family group shots and even steal away the gorgeous bride and groom for a few quick shots...

My trip to Ohio was bittersweet...our reason to travel there was because of my Grandma's funeral. I found myself reflecting a lot, wishing I would have taken the time to get to know her better, yet grateful for the opportunities I might have for this in the life to come. It was good to see her, to say good-bye, to wish her peace and rest in the arms of her dear husband, my grandpa, who preceded her in death over 40 years ago. What a sweet reunion that must have been- indeed I look forward to seeing them both someday...

That was the bitter...and the sweet? Getting to see family and even photograph a cute little niece and meet/photograph my newest nephew!

Meet Macie Nicole...such a doll! I loved to cuddle her (when she would let me!) and miss her already! She is getting such a fun personality and is definitely a momma's girl!!

This one is for her daddy...two of his loves- Macie of course, and tractors!!

...and here is baby Noah!! There were so many great shots, as he is starting to make lots of fun faces! But I adored his big eyes and peaceful expression in this one... He, too, I took advantage of snuggling whenever I could! Made me even MORE baby hungry...what a handsome little man!!!

I am just in LOVE with these two little ones as well as ALL of my nieces and nephews, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, parents, grandparents...SO grateful for an awesome family!!

Spring into SUMMER mini sessions...SNEAK PEEK!!! [Colorado family and child photographer]

A few of my favorites from yesterday's mini-sessions...It was hard to pick just a couple! I had so much fun capturing some wonderful personalities- such ADORABLE babies, INSANELY cute toddlers, and FUN-loving kiddos! The princess tiara is quite fitting, because this little sweet pea has 3 brothers AND was photographed with 2 MORE boys! However...I was cracking up at the boys- they were just as interested in the tea party set I had brought as SHE was! (no preview of that set YET!) Just an all-around FUN time!!

As mentioned, these kiddos are from two families, but go back a LONG way...Both mommas have been friends before kids, dogs, and even husbands! This little group played so good together and are SURE to be life-long friends like their mommas!!

super FUN Birthday GIRL!!

I had an awesome time this evening photographing one of the most darling, energetic, outgoing, talkative, absolutely cute cuTE CUTE 6-year old girls EVER!! Miss Elise told me all about her birthday and upcoming celebration with friends, as well as her favorite animal, the unicorn! When there were moments of silence (which were FEW!), she loved pretending to hop like a kangaroo and had me smiling and laughing throughout our session...I'm really not sure who had more FUN!! I was thrilled to say the least when I came home and sifted through the images. Her super personality is the essence of childhood and definitely made me feel young again...Hopefully I captured a bit of that; all I know is that it was hard to choose just a handful for this sneak peek!!

C #1...meet baby Creyton. Not only is he super adorable, with chubby cheekers I could just gobble up...he is also my newest nephew! I absolutely LOVE this first image...it makes me think--full tummy, happy dreamy smiles.

These next images are similar, but I did in a couple different finishes. couldn't decide which I liked better!

S #1...my little girl Shae! Shae and I went on a date a couple of weeks ago and had such a fun time. We went downtown for a little mini-session and some one-on-one quality time. Then, we went to the theater and watched TANGLED! Awesome girl time and lots of fun images, too!

Journey of a Photographer...

Yep. Still here! This last week has been way exciting, finishing up lots of editing!

Just in time, too, with a couple of weddings next month! I am just thrilled and LOVE capturing LOVE...not only in the form of weddings, but also in everyday life! I don't know that my work is technically defined as "lifestyle photography," but I have discovered in the past few months, that my passion is definitely capturing moments, not just those "posed" family portraits...The latter are fabulous when they occur naturally and are not forced. But truly, it is the MOMENTS that TELL A STORY that I LIVE and LOVE to capture!

Funny story to illustrate...I have a good friend who I would define as "anti-family photos." Not just the traditional posed portraits, either. I think it makes her head spin just trying to imagine how on earth a "family picture" could be captured of her family of 6. Having a family of 6 myself, I completely understand where she is coming from...but she makes me laugh at her utter rebellion against family pictures (their last family "portrait" is a snapshot taken at the beach when her oldest, now 6, was their only child!) Recently, I had the opportunity to photograph each of her kids individually and I have made it my MISSION to convert her to LOVE "family pictures!" HHhhmmmm.....maybe an "experiment" for my blog??

This collage is definitely a favorite...I love the contrast and the emotion it evokes- not to mention the huge innocent baby (blue) eyes that pierce the soul and melt the heart!!

LOVE me some CUTE little piggies!!

and below...is my beautiful niece, Braylee! I was able to take a few photographs of her when we visited family last month...such a FUN age, with lots of ear-to-ear grins and silly expressions!

Okay, another realization...you may notice in these images of Braylee, that they were not taken in a studio. You may even notice that they (as many of my images, perhaps) may not be technically correct in terms of lighting, etc... GASP!! Although I absolutely credit proper lighting techniques and strive to utilize and control my light in every setting, I feel that the moment captured perfectly in time, the emotion that echoes an image's story...speak volumes. An image can be technically correct in every aspect, but if there is no emotion, no story being told, how powerful or moving is that image?

Wow! Wasn't planning on being so philosophical...guess that's what happens late at night when the kids are in bed and my mind unwinds and reflects!

the beginning of wonderful CHANGES!

I haven't yet posted on my experience at WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) convention in Las Vegas, but I have been striving to implement some of the things I learned there. In doing so, I came across an image from last fall and fell in love with it again!

I had been sifting through images, trying to decide which to print for "studio display" to showcase my work as well as the amazing products that are available...and I thought, it would be nice to print pictures of my own kids...ya know, that way I could also display them in my home (ahem...which happens to be my "studio" too...not that I do as much "studio" work...). Anyways, it made me realize that I do not take advantage of photographing my own children as often as I would like. I am so blessed to be the momma to 4 amazing, wonderful, adorable, FUN children that honestly teach me so much about myself, the world, and just the STUFF that truly matters. And they are growing SO fast.

SO...I have decided to do my best to take them on mini-sessions periodically, as well as capture their everyday lives, AND contribute at least one post a week to these most important people to me...I hope that in the process you will not only get to see my style as a photographer, but also the passion that drives me!!

Definitely one of my favorite engagement sessions...Mark and Kelly were just super cute to photograph! Their sweet love was so evident throughout the session, whether they were giggling together, kissing, eating ice cream...they did what they do best, while I captured away! That's what I LOVE about being a photographer...I LOVE when the couple (or family, children, etc...) are seemingly oblivious that I am present; they ARE just doing what they do best, enjoying each other, interacting and often overflowing with a spectrum of emotions...capturing those moments and telling a story through images is what I love and strive to do!!

My family and I went to Utah this past weekend for a cousin's baptism and while there, I had the opportunity to photograph an engagement session for another cousin and her fiance...the gorgeous DAVE & LINDSAY! We had a fantastic time exploring downtown Springville and LOVED all of the textures many of the old buildings offered. After that, we went up Spanish Fork Canyon to take advantage of the mountainous backdrop. Let me tell you, it was difficult trying to decide which images to edit first for a preview...but, I was able to narrow it down to a handful!

In Springville, there was an awesome vintage trolley that doubled as the entrance to a cafe...perfect!

...and in front of the cafe was a vintage telephone booth! Super cute and fun!

Can't believe that my last post was December 2nd! AND I am LATE adding that as a New Year's Resolution, too...

Seriously, though...I returned home last week from an amazing Photography Convention (WPPI; post to follow soon!) and am *STOKED* to implement all of the incredible new things I've learned into my photography and my business...taking it to a new level for my fabulous CLIENTS!!

One of the things I learned, which I am going to strive to do this year, is to post on my blog 2-3 times a week. It means so much for me to keep in touch, update you on specials, AND may be even do a contest or two :)

I got SUPER busy around OCT/NOV and had the opportunity to photograph some really wonderful families! I am grateful to all of these clients who were so patient with me, juggling pricing details, editing, and everything in between. I hope to be even MORE "busy" throughout the year and with NEW, simple pricing and packages (coming soon!)

I was honored to photograph this gorgeous couple, Martin and Katy, for their wedding. It had been a while since I had photographed a wedding and it made me remember how much I *LOVE* weddings...hint, hint (more info coming soon!!)

And 2011 started out great, capturing sweet newborn moments with Kendell...gorgeous baby!!

Once upon a windy, bright, sunny Saturday morning (did I mention the WIND?!), I photographed this lovely, GORgeous family! The elements did make it a bit challenging, but the Fullers were great sports and very patient as we waited for a "lull" in the wind after setting up for each shot. I was SO grateful to capture some maternity photos for this gorgeous family! However, we had two strikes against us in our attempts to schedule this session: first, the uncooperative weather and second, Tiffany's close approaching due date...she is feeling like may be the baby will come this week!! I felt very blessed on Saturday, when the clouds parted-- AND Tiffany not only remained preganant-LOL!!-- but feeling great and with enthusiasm and an amazing glow about her! This allowed plenty of time to capture a few sweet moments! Here are just a few teasers, as I could NOT resist!

Miss Liberty!

meet Liberty...she is a beautiful 8-year old girl I feel very fortunate to have met. Her parents and I have a mutual friend, who told me about Liberty and the challenges she is facing right now (to read more about Liberty's Story visit her blog at http://libertysstory.blogspot.com...you can even donate to a fund set up for her!) Despite all of the not-so-fun changes Liberty is experiencing, she has an incredible event coming up, her baptism! Hoping to help the best way I know how, I volunteered to take some photos of Liberty in preparation of this milestone. Not sure how much fun the photo-taking itself was, with the 2PM heat and itchy grasses, etc...but Libby sure was a trooper and even though I know it may not seem like much amidst all she is going through, I hope that seeing these photos will cheer her heart! Thank you, again, Libby!!

This past year has been one of the greatest; Teegan has been such a wonderful baby...sleeping good, content almost always, quick to smile and laugh, and, my favorite, a snuggler! He melts my heart every day and I just LOVE him more than words can describe...

I feel so blessed to get to work with such amazing people! This family is another from our Church, so very dear friends! It didn't take me long to discover how photogenic they all are too! The weather wasn't cooperative for the outdoor portion of our session (um, blizzard-like weather?!!) but we still had a blast in the comfort of their home and captured many great shots of this cute CUTE family!!

Even though I have been incredibly behind on blogging, I have had super opportunities to photograph some beautiful little ones...

Here is beautiful Leah! Leah and her family attend my Church and I have had a great time getting to know her mom, Laura! Leah started her session wearing an adorable dress, but really got comfortable in front of the camera when we switched gears to more relaxed, candid photos while Leah played with a tea set, wearing a cute tutu! Little did she know I was capturing some totally adorable shots!! What a doll!

Maily is particularly special to me, as she is part of our extended family (my husband's cousin's first baby!). I was honored to photograph her parents' wedding a few years ago, and more recently, maternity pictures of them as well...definitely some of my favorite subjects!! Hopefully soon, I will be able to take their first official family photo, too...but for now, photographing little Maily was just the fix I needed!! What an angel!
